Happy New Year!

Granted, it is almost February, but I haven't posted a blog in a while.

Today was exhausting. I had class and work from 9 to 5 and then I had a meeting at 6 for AMS stuff. So I was on campus for almost 12 hours. That's wayyy too long. Especially for someone who loves naps as much as I do.

In the last few months I've learned a lot about myself and about my friends. I've definitely learned a lesson in trust (which isn't necessarily a good thing), but I'm not entirely sure how to put this lesson to use. I'm back on decent terms with the people who were causing problems. But I've also come to the realization that some people just cannot be friends. Ever. End of story. But on the plus side, I also have strengthened a lot of friendships through this process.

Scott and I decided that we really shouldn't be allowed to cook. I made a casserole the other night and it spilled over the sides of the dish it was in the oven in. So when we went to make stuffed peppers last night, and the apartment smelled really bad. So we had to stop the oven clean it out before continuing for fear that the little bits of casserole that were on the bottom would catch fire somehow. But we got that all worked out...and the stuffed peppers tasted great, despite the lack of cheese.

Oh! And I LOOOOOVE HOCKEY! Go Washington Capitals! They're playing Pittsburgh right now and winning! Yay! Too bad Jack's favorite team is the Pens. :P Oh well. Go Alex Ovechkin! He's soooooooo delicious! :P

But anywho, just re-reading this post makes me wonder how I don't go insane...haha. I'm a little crazy. But anywho, time for an episode of House and then TO SLEEP!

Things In My Head

Hey peoples.

So I'm sitting at work today and I'm really bored. There's no one else here. And I have a test at 2. BLAH! I hate tests.

Anywho, the gist of the title is all of the crap that's going on with some of my friends in my department at school. My particular degree of choice has a rather small group within the college (only about 150 are enrolled in Meteorology at any given time at ISU) so there's a lot of typical high-school-like drama that goes on. Being one who detests any sort of drama, I'm very annoyed with some of the crap that's happened not only this year, but last year as well. There's a particular group of people that I really like to hang out with because when you get to the basics of it, they're all pretty cool people. The only problem? They all act like a "click," and if you're not specifically picked for the group by them, then it's really hard to get in the group. This is what happened to me. I met each of these people individually and became their friends. Then I noticed that they all hung out a lot and I really wanted to hang out with them all as a group. But the more I tried, the more I realized it seemed like they didn't want to hang out with me in the same way that they always wanted to hang out with each other. At first I thought it was just me taking things way too personally so I ignored it for a while. But this year it is becoming more prominent, and after talking to some other people in my position, I'm starting to realize that it's not just me that's getting this vibe from the group. So on Thursday I'm going to confront one of my closest friends in the group and basically explain what I think and some ways that we can resolve this problem.

I really hope that this all goes well, because in all reality: I do want to be friends with them and hang out with them a lot. So I guess this was just a post to kind of sort through the thoughts going on in my head to figure out what exactly to say to my friend. So I guess thanks for listening? Haha.

But anyways, I better get back to studying for my test. Hooray for Synoptic Meteorology! w00t!

Much Love,

Liz

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I'm giving this a try to sort of talk out what's going through my head. A lot is going on right now, and probably too much to write down. So here goes nothing.

Stay tuned for more.
